This is the earliest cherry blossom festival held in Japan. The festival is held in mid-January when the cherry blossom trees flower. Enjoy a drive up MOUNT YAEDAKE or take a stroll and see the 7000 or so cherry trees that start at the foot of the mountain and continue all the way to the summit, offering visitors a dazzling display of colorful blossoms to be enjoyed.

This is an event that offers participants the opportunity to savor the experience of viewing historically significant properties such as FUKUOKA CASTLE and KOROKAN (the only ancient state guest house in Japan for which remains have been found), amid the backdrop of some 1000 cherry trees. By night, the castle wall and cherry trees in the park are illuminated and its INNER GARDEN, which is a designated asset of national importance, is specially opened for night viewing.
