This is an annual traditional event to celebrate the 'SPRING FESTIVAL' or Chinese New Year, according to the Lunar Calendar. Traditional cultural performances are featured during the event, including lion dances, dragon dances, other dance performances and acrobatic performances, etc. YOKOHAMA CHINATOWN bustles even more gaily than usual, with the glow from the illumination of spring festival lanterns.

The SAPPORO SNOW FESTIVAL enters its 63rd year this year. More than 250 gigantic snow statues and ice sculptures await the perusal of visitors to the festival. The festival takes place at a number of sites, each offering visitors a different exciting experience. Impressive snow and ice sculptures of gigantic proportions line 'ODORI PARK', in addition to the hands-on fun to be had at the 'TSUDOMU SITE' (SAPPORO COMMUNITY DOME) and the magical world of ice at the 'SUSUKINO SITE'.
